Job summary

Trinity Rail Maintenance Services, Inc. in Shell Rock, IA, is seeking a Senior Heavy Assembler for 1st & 2nd shifts.

You will assemble fabricated parts into large subassemblies and full units, reading blueprints to lay out and align components with attention to torque sequences and safety protocols. The role requires minimum 2 years of experience, ability to read blueprints, and proficiency with hand and power tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in heavy assembly or equivalent.
• Capable of manually applying torque up to 760 ft-lbs as required by job.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Experience using hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Assemble fabricated parts into large subassemblies or complete units.
• Lay out reference points, position, align and fit fabrications per blueprints.
• Follow safety rules and practices; participate in safety initiatives as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll do

• Assemble fabricated parts to relatively large or heavy subassemblies or complete units.
• Lay out reference points, position, align and fit together fabricated parts of metal or fiberglass mold according to blueprint and layout specifications fabrication.
• Utilize mechanical fastening (bolts, nuts, hucks)
• Apply appropriate torque sequence and values (certified)
• Utilize hand tools to bend or form parts
• Follow all safety rules and practices
• Be involved in safety committees or initiatives, as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

What you'll need

Minimum of 2 year of experience

Capable of manually applying torque up to 760 ft-lbs in accordance with job requirements

Ability to read and understand blueprints

Experience using hand and power tools

Reliable attendance and ability to work as part of a team
