Job summary

TuftsMedicine is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide primary care for a caseload of patients, operating as an advanced practice clinician within a multidisciplinary team. You will perform comprehensive assessments, diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions, and develop treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and other professionals.

Qualifications

Masters degree in Nursing required.
APRN license and BLS certification required.
At least 3 years nursing experience.
ACLS or PALS certifications may be required for department.
Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills necessary.

Responsibilities

Apply advanced nursing knowledge to provide care for an assigned caseload in collaboration with the attending physician.
Provide age-appropriate care for patients in the clinical area.
Perform procedures and treatments according to guidelines and professional standards.
Order and administer medications; monitor patient response and safety.
Maintain familiarity with equipment and ensure safe operation.
Document initial and follow-up notes and order appropriate tests.
Plan and coordinate home care and follow-up visits as needed.
Initiate referrals and consultations with specialists when indicated.
Facilitate family and team meetings to support patient care decisions.
Coordinate and direct medical/nursing care plans with the care team; delegate tasks as appropriate.
