Job summary

Vizient seeks a contract strategy specialist to develop customized approaches for complex healthcare contracts. You will independently lead negotiations, analyze proposals, and collaborate with clients and suppliers to optimize spend and value. This role requires strong analytics, financial acumen, and executive-level communication.

Three days in the Irving, TX office per week, with travel as needed. A relevant degree and 5+ years in healthcare or pharmacy are preferred.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree preferred in business, supply chain, legal studies, healthcare administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Healthcare, Clinical or Pharmacy.
• Expertise in drafting, redlining, and negotiating complex terms and conditions.
• Proven ability to lead complex negotiations.
• Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills, critical for facilitating supplier discussions and aligning stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Advanced Excel experience.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
• Hybrid work model requiring three days per week in the office (Irving, TX; Chicago, IL; Centennial, CO) and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Develop customized contract strategies and recommendations for complex contracting needs, including physician and clinical preference, purchased services, and capital.
• Lead negotiations with legal, clients, and suppliers to establish contract terms and conditions, build consensus, and execute agreements.
• Prepare and analyze requests for proposals to evaluate options and develop contracting recommendations.
• Collaborate with internal and external clients to develop contracts that address requirements and complex sourcing needs.
• Identify and recommend cost-saving initiatives for large or complex client accounts and projects.
• Analyze and interpret cost and utilization data to identify savings opportunities and process improvements.
• Monitor contract compliance to support achievement of cost savings and program objectives.
• Support supplier relationships by coordinating product cross-references, in-services, trials, and issue resolution.
• Develop and deliver communication strategies that convey recommendations and opportunities to clients and audiences.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and senior leaders; mentor team members as needed.
