Job summary

Vizient, Inc. seeks a seasoned contract strategist to develop customized contracting approaches for complex healthcare needs. You will independently lead negotiations, analyze cost data, and drive savings for clients while guiding teams through high-stakes agreements.

You’ll collaborate with clients and suppliers, shaping terms and conditions, and ensuring alignment with business objectives. This hybrid role requires travel and interaction with senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree preferred in Business, Supply Chain, Legal Studies, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Healthcare, Clinical or Pharmacy.
• Expertise in drafting, redlining, and negotiating complex terms and conditions.
• Proven ability to lead complex negotiations.
• Strong analytical and financial acumen.
• Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills for supplier discussions and stakeholder alignment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; advanced Excel experience.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
• Hybrid work model: three days in the office; Irving, TX; Chicago, IL; Centennial, CO.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Develop customized contract strategies for complex contracting needs.
• Lead negotiations with legal, clients, and suppliers to establish terms and conditions.
• Prepare and analyze RFPs to evaluate options and develop recommendations.
• Collaborate with clients to develop contracts addressing complex sourcing needs.
• Identify and recommend cost-saving initiatives for large client accounts.
• Analyze cost and utilization data to identify savings opportunities.
• Monitor contract compliance to ensure cost savings and program objectives.
• Support supplier relationships through product cross-references and trials.
• Deliver communication strategies to convey recommendations and opportunities.
• Build strong relationships with clients and senior leaders.
