Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ Sheridan VA Healthcare System seeks a Supervisory Projects Engineer to lead project management for design and construction of hospital and support environments.

The role ensures safe, reliable, and precisely controlled operating conditions for direct patient care through management of renovation programs. Requirements include an engineering or architecture degree (ABET-accredited preferred) and licensure or qualifying credentials.

Qualifications

• Engineering or Architecture degree required with ABET or equivalent accreditation.
• Professional licensure or ability to obtain licensure as PE or Architect preferred.
• Experience with design, construction, and capital improvement programs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, evaluate, and manage the Engineering Service Project Section.
• Provide technical advice on engineering issues including SCIP, asset inventories, and maintenance.
• Participate on station, VISN, and national committees and work groups.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards and accrediting bodies.
• Develop technical data and cost estimates for formal specifications and projects.
• Conduct site visits and oversee construction administration.
