Job summary

Humana Inc. is seeking a Senior Counsel to provide a full range of legal advice for CenterWell Primary Care and merger activity. You will advise executives on strategic matters, exercise independent judgment, and operate with minimal supervision while addressing complex issues.

The role focuses on Medicare/Medicaid regulations, post-merger integration, and enterprise-wide compliance. Occasional travel to Humana offices may be required, with a remote work option.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited school law school.
• 5 - 10 years of relevant experience.
• Active membership in a state bar association.
• Strong legal writing and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently under general supervision and in team settings.
• Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
• Experience in Medicare, Medicaid, or similar regulatory work.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance related to the application of fraud, waste, and abuse laws, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, the Stark Law, and the Beneficiary Inducement Statute as applied to CenterWell Primary Care delivery and operations.
• Assist with health care regulatory diligence for potential merger & acquisition activity as well as coordinate and address legal issues during post-closing integration.
• Collaborate and consult with leaders throughout the company in order to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and protection against external risk.
