Job summary

Humana Inc. is seeking a Senior Counsel to provide a full range of legal advice with a focus on supporting CenterWell Primary Care operations and merger & acquisition activity.

The role requires independent judgment and the ability to advise executives on strategic legal matters. The Senior Counsel will influence compliance across the organization, including Medicare/Medicaid contexts, and work with leaders to mitigate risk while advancing consumer experience initiatives.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school.
• 5-10 years of relevant experience.
• Active membership in a state bar association.
• Strong legal writing and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently under general supervision and in team settings.
• Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
• Experience in Medicare, Medicaid, or similar regulatory work.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance related to fraud, waste, and abuse laws, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, the Stark Law, and the Beneficiary Inducement Statute as applied to CenterWell Primary Care delivery and operations.
• Assist with health care regulatory diligence for potential merger & acquisition activity as well as coordinate and address legal issues during post-closing integration.
• Collaborate and consult with leaders throughout the company in order to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and protection against external risk.
