Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System in Fort Lauderdale, FL seeks an experienced attorney to support the General Counsel and the organization across a broad range of legal matters. The role requires leadership to negotiate settlements, draft and review contracts, and manage outside counsel while aligning with the hospital's strategic objectives.

Ideal candidates have a Juris Doctor, active Florida bar license, and at least 5 years of experience as an attorney, preferably in healthcare or complex

Qualifications

• Strong legal acumen and strategic thinking required.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex contracts and manage risk.
• Experience in healthcare regulatory matters is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Negotiates with outside parties on regulatory and legal disputes, including settlements.
• Drafts, reviews, and negotiates contracts in alignment with strategic objectives.
• Monitors and manages outside counsel and outside legal budgets.
• Conducts in-house training on relevant legal issues for staff.
• Provides coaching and mentoring to junior attorneys.
