Job summary

You will own end-to-end mechanical design of health sensing systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring Apple products to life, from concept through validation.

The role requires leading design convergence, applying rigorous testing, and validating prototypes, with international travel 15–25% to support manufacturing.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering required with strong background in mechanical design and sensors.
• Experience with optomechanical systems and mass production.
• Proficiency in GD&T, 3D CAD, and tolerance analysis.
• Experience with DFM/ DFA in high-volume manufacturing.
• Familiarity with molding, machining, and optomechanical packaging.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical design of optomechanical health sensing systems.
• Lead design convergence with risk assessment and tradeoffs.
• Apply experimental design to reduce design risk early.
• Run tolerance studies to ensure manufacturability.
• Build prototypes to evaluate concepts and validate assumptions.
• Develop validation strategies for hardware performance.
• Support vendors with process development and root-cause analysis.
• Travel 15–25% internationally to support manufacturing.
