Job summary

Navarro Research and Engineering in Las Vegas, NV seeks a Safety Engineer IV - Health & Safety Manager to lead the health and safety program for complex DOE projects. You will apply advanced expertise in health physics, occupational safety, and regulatory compliance to ensure safe, compliant operations.

The role requires at least 15 years of relevant experience, DOE facility exposure, and the ability to obtain DOE clearance; field and office responsibilities at NNSS and other remote sites, plus

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field.
• 15+ years of relevant occupational safety and health, industrial hygiene, environmental science, or related experience.
• At least five years of experience at a U.S. Department of Energy facility.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance and HAZWOPER certification.
• Ability to work at the Nevada National Security Site and other remote field locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert-level health and safety leadership with minimal supervision.
• Establish health and safety strategies, monitor performance, and review results.
• Maintain knowledge of laws and regulations related to worker safety and health.
• Manage project teams and customer deliverables with high responsibility and impact.
• Serve as health and safety content expert and internal consultant.
• Develop and implement inspection programs and corrective actions to ensure compliance.
• Mentor junior staff and support project teams.
• Communicate technical information effectively with stakeholders.
