Northwell Health is seeking an HIM Technician II to prep, scan, and quality‑check inpatient and outpatient medical records. You will ensure accuracy, assist with front desk tasks during off shifts, and assign deficiencies in the online system according to established protocols.

The role requires data entry, medical terminology knowledge, and the ability to follow policies with attention to detail. Strong teamwork and organizational skills are essential in this fast‑paced health information

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Data entry experience required.
• Medical terminology knowledge required.
• Prior medical office or hospital experience preferred.
• Demonstrates ability to follow policy and procedures, strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsabilidades

• Preps and assembles permanent record documents in required order for scanning.
• Performs scanning and maintains scanner setups for optimal image quality.
• Manually indexes documents if automatic indexing fails and reorders as needed.
• Performs quality control on documents throughout prep, scan and indexing stages.
• Indexes and quality controls documents scanned by practices and inbound fax queue.
• Identifies serious quality issues in the online record and takes appropriate action.
• Performs Front Desk Reception duties during nights, weekends or holidays.
• Conducts audits to ensure documentation compliance with regulatory standards.
• Mentors HIM Technician I staff and supports training in prep, scan and QC processes.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service, teamwork, safety and self-development.
