Job summary

New York State Office of Mental Health seeks a Health Information Management Administrator 3 to lead the medical records program, shaping systems for acquiring and preserving records and steering technology developments in health information management.

You will supervise staff, coordinate training, and collaborate on computer applications that improve medical records information management across the facility.

Qualifications

• RHIA certification and two years of professional health information management experience.
• Internal candidates with one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a transfer-eligible title may apply.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the medical records program.
• Plan, implement and maintain systems for acquiring and preserving individuals’ medical records.
• Supervise and train subordinate staff in medical records and health information management departments.
• Participate in development of computer applications for medical records information.
