New York State Office of Mental Health, Manhattan Psychiatric Center, seeks a Health Information Management Technician 2 to supervise HIM staff and support the health information workflow. You will ensure accurate notes and records, review documentation for Medicaid funding, and assist with coding and transcription across clinical services.

Qualifications

• RHIA or RHIT certification and one year of full-time health information management experience.
• Eligible for competitive class appointment if reachable on the current HIM Technician 2 eligible list.
• One year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a transfer-eligible title per Civil Service Law.

Responsabilités

• Supervise HIM Technicians and clerical staff.
• Ensure accuracy of clinical notes, lab reports, and treatment records.
• Review staff documentation for Medicaid funding.
• Transcribe and code medical and mental health services.
• Maintain databases for health information disclosures.
• Provide technical assistance on HIM requirements.
• Conduct utilization review audits and report deficiencies.
• Implement corrective actions from audits.
