Job summary

Providence seeks a Senior Data Engineer to design and build data-centric software for clinical and operational healthcare processes. You will develop data pipelines, transformations, and enrichment layers while collaborating with Product, Platform, and Architecture teams to drive joint initiatives.

The role emphasizes mentoring, code collaboration with meticulous source control, and applying modern data tech stacks including Hadoop/Spark, SQL/Python, and cloud data warehousing.

Qualifications

• : Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering.
• : 5+ years of experience as a Senior Data Engineer
• : Master's degree in relevant fields (preferred)
• : 8+ years of data development experience (preferred)
• : Expertise in Hadoop/Spark/NoSQL ecosystems
• : Strong SQL and Python skills; Linux processing
• : Experience with OLAP/Cloud Data Warehousing (Snowflake, Synapse, Redshift, BigQuery)
• : Experience with unstructured/multimodal data (EHR/EMR, HL7, FHIR, APIs)
• : Proficiency in Modern Application Development Frameworks (FastAPI, Flask)
• : Experience with ETL/ELT tools (ADF, Glue, Airflow, dbt, NiFi, Informatica, Fivetran)
• : AI/ML + LLM pipelines and embeddings

Responsibilities

• Design and build modern data-centric software applications to support clinical and operational processes.
• Build data pipelines, transformations, and enrichment processes across platforms.
• Mentor and assist junior Data Engineers and contribute to a culture of collaboration and source control.
• Work with Product, Platform, and Architecture teams to deliver joint efforts.
• Apply cloud, big data, and data science techniques to healthcare data.
