Job summary

The State of Washington seeks a seasoned communications professional to lead HR1-related outreach for Apple Health (Medicaid). This remote-optional role collaborates with health agencies to craft strategic messages for external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with brand guides and legal requirements.

In-person meetings may be required as needed. Responsibilities include developing comprehensive HR1 communications plans, reviewing assets and publications, and coordinating with managed care plan

Qualifications

• Strong writing, editing, and planning at an advanced level in communications, journalism, or related field.
• Ability to plan strategically and develop goals and work plans to achieve them.
• Translate complex technical information into plain language for non-technical audiences.
• Knowledge of public information methods and evaluating PR programs.
• Excellent writing and proofreading skills.
• Commitment to equity and telling an organization’s story to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop HR1 communications for the statewide Apple Health program with focus on external stakeholders.
• Oversee content assets and governance, ensuring standards and quality controls.
• Create content for Granicus bulletins, blog posts, social media, and publications.
• Engage with Apple Health plan communication leads and review content.
• Ensure web pages and publications align with HCA brand and guidelines.
• Manage statewide HR1 communications/outreach plan and publication processes.
