Job summary

L.A. Care Health Plan seeks an Associate Counsel III Senior Director Health Care Legal Services in Los Angeles, CA.

The role provides legal counsel on health care regulatory matters, reviews legislation and regulations, and supports product lines and operations with expert advice. You will collaborate with outside counsel, interface with leadership, and guide staff; requires a JD and at least 6 years' licensed attorney experience, with substantive knowledge of Medi-Cal/Medicaid, HIPAA, and

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor Degree or Doctor of Law Degree (J.D.) required.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience as a licensed attorney with senior counsel experience.
• Experience in health care law and HMO/provider contracting.
• Knowledge of Medi-Cal/Medicaid, Knox-Keene Act, Medicare, HIPAA.
• Experience with public entity laws including Brown Act and Public Records Act.

Responsibilities

• Provide analysis of health care regulatory matters and assist with development/review of bills and regulations.
• Offer substantive legal counseling to product, marketing and customer service teams.
• Manage outside counsel for healthcare activities.
• Lead risk mitigation and policy implementation reviews.
• Communicate decisions and roadmaps to staff and leadership.
