Job summary

NHS Highland in West Caithness is recruiting a Senior Health and Social Care Support Worker to join the Care at Home service. You will provide compassionate, person-centered care in clients' homes and support independence and wellbeing.

The role involves teamwork with nurses and social care professionals, maintaining care records, and following safeguarding procedures. Training is provided; driving is required for travel between visits.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work towards SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care.
• Understanding of person-centred care and safeguarding.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care and personal-centred support in clients' homes.
• Assist with personal care, medication support, continence, nutrition and skincare.
• Support independence, dignity and wellbeing of service users.
• Collaborate with nurses, social workers and allied health professionals.

NHS Highland is recruiting a dedicated and compassionate Senior Health and Social Care Support Worker to join our integrated Care at Home service in Caithness.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for a support worker to support individuals in their own homes to provide holistic care.

Role

As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of safe, effective, and person-centred care. You will:

• Provide high-quality care and provide personal-centred support to individuals in their own homes
• Assist with personal care, medication support, continence care, nutrition & fluid, skincare, mobility support.
• Support service users to maintain independence, dignity, and wellbeing
• Work closely with nurses, social workers, and allied health professionals
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records and documentation
• Follow all NHS Highland policies and safeguarding procedures

You Need To Be

• Passionate about delivering high standards of care
• A strong team player with the ability to support and guide others
• Well organised, with good communication and problem-solving skills

Essential Criteria

• Willingness to work towards SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care

Hours will be 16.00 - 21.00 worked on a rota basis of four days on four days off.
