Job summary

Mathematica seeks a managing consultant with deep LTSS policy experience to advance opportunities for people with disabilities and older adults. You will collaborate with state and local partners to design, implement, and monitor HCBS and related Medicaid programs.

The role involves policy development, program design, reimbursement strategies, and engagement with CMS and other authorities. Strong leadership and communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree or equivalent experience in public policy, health policy, or related field.
• Minimum five years managing complex healthcare or health policy projects.
• Strong understanding of LTSS, HCBS waivers and Medicaid programs.
• Ability to lead teams and manage multitask projects across stakeholders.
• Excellent written and oral communication for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead or participate in multidisciplinary teams to improve state policy and programs.
• Provide consulting to state and local clients, support policy development and reimbursements.
• Coordinate with CMS and other entities, negotiate new policies and programs.
• Drive projects on time and budget, facilitate stakeholder communications.
• Author client memos, TA tools, issue briefs, reports, and webinars.
• Conduct research using quantitative or qualitative methods.
• Develop proposals for new projects and represent expertise publicly.
• Engage directly with state officials to implement and assess programs.
