Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Chicago seeks a Pharmacy Technician III specialized in hazardous compounding. Under a pharmacist's direction, you will perform advanced technical duties including sterile preparations, hazardous meds handling, IV admixtures, and narcotics management.

Rotating AM/PM shifts with every other weekend. The role requires an IL Pharmacy Technician license, CPhT or ExCPT certification for those licensed after 2008, and NM training in CSP within 180 days of start.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Illinois Pharmacy Technician License (IDFPR) is required.
• CPhT or ExCPT certification required for technicians licensed after 2008 (PTCB or NHA).
• NM-approved training in compounded sterile preparations within 180 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Prepares medication orders for inpatients and outpatients.
• Prepares prescriptions for outpatients.
• Schedules intravenous admixture solutions per patient record; reports variances.
• Inputs new drug orders and renewal information into the patient medication profile.
• Maintains inventory levels and supports dispensing operations.
