Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Pharmacy Technician III - Hazardous Compounding to join our Prentice Pharmacy team. This role involves preparing hazardous and sterile medications, managing inventories, and supporting pharmacists in patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings.

The position requires a valid Illinois Pharmacy Technician License, CPhT or ExCPT certification, and completion of a NM-approved sterile preparation program within 180 days of start.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Illinois Pharmacy Technician License (IDFPR) is required.
• Certification as CPhT or ExCPT is required for all licensed after 2008.
• NM approved training in compounded sterile preparations within 180 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Prepare medication orders for inpatients and outpatients.
• Prepare and dispense prescriptions and manage sterile and hazardous medications.
• Operate the computer system for dispensing and inquiries.
• Maintain inventory and support medication preparation under pharmacist supervision.
• Conduct narcotics inventories and ensure compliance with regulations.
