Job summary

Rush University Medical Center in Chicago is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to assist licensed pharmacists, participate in hazard drug compounding, and support daily technical operations within the POB Pharmacy department.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, Illinois Pharmacy Technician license, and certification such as PTCB or EXCPT. Prior experience and hazardous drug certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
• Current Illinois Pharmacy Technician license.
• PTCB certification and/or EXCPT.
• Licenses held before January 1, 2008 are grandfathered; certification not required.
• At least 6 months of experience as a pharmacy technician.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed pharmacists in pharmacy duties and daily technical operations.
• Demonstrate leadership and train other technicians; develop site-specific policies and procedures.
