Job summary

Inversion is seeking a Senior Harnessing Engineer to own end-to-end design, 3D routing, and integration of electrical harnesses for its hypersonic reentry vehicle. You will bridge electrical schematics and physical structures, resolving packaging, thermal protection, and EMI challenges with high autonomy.

You will establish harness manufacturing standards, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with technicians to deliver flight-ready hardware in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical or electrical engineering.
• 5+ years in 3D CAD harness routing and design for aerospace.
• Proficiency in Siemens NX with routing modules.
• Ability to obtain US Secret/Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own the 3D harness routing and mechanical packaging of the vehicle electrical distribution system using CAD.
• Generate 2D harness drawings, schematics, flat patterns, nail board layouts, and BOM.
• Select wire types, shielding, connectors, back shells, and over-braid materials for extreme aerospace environments.
• Conduct trade studies on shielding, grounding, and wire sizing for power delivery and EMI/EMC compliance.
• Author harness fabrication procedures, routing checklists, and electrical inspection plans.
• Provide hands-on floor support during harness manufacturing, vehicle routing, and pin-out operations.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians on airspace-grade wire crimping, shielding, and soldering.
