Job summary

BD is seeking an experienced R&D Senior Hardware Test Engineer in Durham, NC to design and run automated electro‑mechanical test systems. You will lead reliability testing, design of experiments, and life‑cycle testing while mentoring junior staff and collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineers.

The role emphasizes LabVIEW programming, data integrity, and robust PQP alignment, with hands‑on testing and lab automation as core activities. 4+ days in‑office expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in a role with automated test systems and fixtures.
• Experience with V&V testing, DOE, and reliability analysis.
• Strong LabVIEW programming and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute reliability, durability, and accelerated life tests.
• Plan and conduct designed experiments (DOE) and MSA studies.
• Develop automated test workflows in LabVIEW and DAQ systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and test technicians in testing methods.
• Review PQPs and verify test plans for robust coverage.
• Support lab operations and prototype development activities.
