Job summary

Impinj, Inc. is seeking a Hardware Test Engineer to design and implement test programs for wafer and device characterization across ATE platforms, supporting production in Asia and NPIs to high-volume production.

The role requires 5+ years in ATE testing, hands-on experience with NI STS and Accretech probers, and strong data analysis skills. Collaborative, globally distributed teams will work to ensure test readiness and quality across stages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of ATE test engineering experience.
• Direct experience with wafer- or die-level ATE testing, including NI Semiconductor Test System (STS) and Accretech probers, is preferred.
• Experience with 200mm and 300mm prober operation, and package handling.
• RF test experience with Linearity, NSD, and EVM.
• Strong debugging of ATE hardware and software systems.
• Product engineering experience with ATE coverage, margin, and binning.
• Identify ATE hardware-related issues.
• Strong data analysis skills with SPC methods.
• Proficiency in NI LabVIEW and NI TestStand.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement test programs to characterize and validate wafers and devices across ATE platforms.
• Own and monitor production test systems; manage scheduling and throughput.
• Ensure smooth NPI to high-volume production transitions for test equipment and programs.
• Define test coverage for new chip features and QA requirements.
• Collaborate with test, product, and design teams to develop plans across development, NPI, and production.
• Lead hands-on installation, troubleshooting, and verification of instrumentation and ATE systems.
• Support procurement, installation, and calibration of test equipment.
• Manage wafer disposition, NCMR, and EPCNs for test updates across Asia operations.
• Maintain relationships with subcontractors and cross-functional teams.
