Job summary

Sidus Space is seeking a Principal Hardware Systems Engineer to lead design, integration, and verification of advanced microelectronic hardware, focusing on 3U VPX and AI processing platforms. This onsite Cape Canaveral role requires a strong multi‑disciplinary background and leadership in hardware development.

You will work closely with electrical, mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust, production‑ready hardware, supported by thorough documentation and test plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer/Systems Engineering or related STEM field.
• Eight years of engineering experience in systems architecture, electronics development, requirements management, and verification for complex hardware.
• Experience with systems engineering lifecycle tools (DOORS, CRADLE, DevOps platforms or equivalents).
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 for communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead R&D activities on next‑generation embedded computing architectures with system specs, ICDs, and test plans.
• Drive design, prototyping, and validation of microelectronic and PCB‑level hardware (3U VPX modules, AI accelerators).
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams for seamless integration.
• Troubleshoot multi‑board assemblies, FPGA designs, and custom electronics to production readiness.
• Provide guidance for hardware bring‑up, testing, debugging, and lifecycle artifacts.
