Job summary

Sidus Space is seeking a Principal Hardware Systems Engineer to lead design, integration and verification of advanced microelectronic and compute‑intensive hardware. You will focus on 3U VPX modules, AI accelerators, and high‑performance embedded platforms, guiding multidisciplinary teams through concept to qualification.

Onsite in Cape Canaveral, FL, you will drive specifications, prototyping, testing and environmental qualification while ensuring robust documentation and smooth collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related STEM; equivalent experience accepted.
• 8 years of engineering experience in systems architecture, electronics development, requirements management, and verification.
• Experience with lifecycle tools such as DOORS, CRADLE or equivalents; proficient in MS 365 for collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, integration and verification of advanced hardware systems.
• Develop specifications, ICDs and test plans for high‑speed digital, RF and mixed‑signal hardware.
• Drive prototyping and validation of microelectronic and PCB‑level hardware including 3U VPX modules and AI subsystems.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software and manufacturing teams for seamless integration.
• Troubleshoot multi‑board assemblies, FPGA designs and custom electronics; mature concepts to production.
• Provide hardware bring‑up guidance, testing, debugging and environmental qualification.
• Maintain documentation such as verification matrices, CM records and test results.
• Communicate technical status to teams, stakeholders and partners.
