Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Staff Engineer, Hardware System Test to serve as the system-level testing authority for complex hardware products. You will define validation strategies, influence early quality, and collaborate with engineering and QA teams to deliver robust releases.

You will lead testing across mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software domains, develop integration test plans, and mentor QA engineers while tracking KPIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or Computer Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 8+ years of hardware system testing or system validation experience.
• Strong system-level understanding across mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software domains.
• Experience defining and executing system-level test strategies.
• Knowledge of validation methodologies, verification practices, and defect management.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience with communication protocols (SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, USB).
• Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead system-level hardware testing and validation strategies.
• Develop test frameworks for integrated hardware, firmware, and software systems.
• Create and maintain system integration test plans and coverage matrices.
• Partner with QA, Firmware, Electronics, and Systems teams on validation.
• Identify test gaps and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Lead system-level troubleshooting and defect resolution.
• Mentor QA engineers and test technicians.
• Track and report system-level quality metrics and KPIs.
