Job summary

LinkedIn is seeking a Senior Engineer for Commodity Management / NPI to lead sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimization across datacenter hardware components. This role collaborates with Hardware Engineering, Capacity Planning, Finance, and suppliers to ensure timely, cost-effective hardware availability for LinkedIn’s infrastructure.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Supply Chain Management, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
6+ years of experience in commodity management, vendor management, hardware sourcing, or related roles for datacenter or enterprise hardware.
Experience with hardware commodities (CPU, GPU, DRAM, NAND, SSD/NVMe, HDD) and with suppliers, contract manufacturers, ODMs/OEMs.
Experience supporting sourcing, pricing negotiations, supply planning, or supplier performance management.

Responsibilities

Support commodity strategies across CPU, GPU, DRAM, NAND, NVMe/SSD, HDD, and other server components.
Manage supplier engagement, pricing, forecasts, supply commitments, delivery performance and issue resolution.
Track demand, supply commitments, inventory, and long-lead components to identify shortages and drive actions.
Lead pricing and commercial discussions for assigned areas with leadership involvement.
Partner with Engineering, OxMs, and suppliers to support new product introductions from qualification through production ramp.
Track supplier performance and drive corrective actions for quality, RMA, reliability or production issues.
Drive cross-functional execution within a small team and provide clear visibility into cost, supply, and risks.
