Job summary

STR is seeking a Hardware Section Manager to lead RF, Electrical, Mechanical engineering teams and firmware efforts across radar and EW convergences. You will oversee staffing, technical direction, and program execution while coordinating with cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.

Strong leadership and communication are essential to drive design excellence. The role requires a Top Secret clearance, US citizenship, and a track record of delivering complex hardware solutions on time.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance with eligibility to support SAP; US citizenship required.
• Expert understanding in RF, Electrical, Mechanical, or Firmware domains.
• Demonstrated leadership of hardware development teams, 10+ people.
• Experience staffing and hiring for programs and guiding technical approaches.
• Experience delivering high-level briefings to Customers and senior management; translate mission needs into end-to-end solutions.
• Familiarity with technical reviews (SRRs, PDRs, CDRs, TIMS) and multi-disciplinary program execution.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear direction and constructive feedback to staff engineers.
• Monitor progress against goals and program milestones.
• Identify and codify engineering best practices across disciplines.
• Contribute to proposal writing and work estimation.
• Lead cross-domain teams in radar, EW, and RF convergence initiatives.
• Decompose customer needs into system concepts and viable solutions.
