Job summary

Two Six Technologies is seeking a Senior Hardware Reverse Engineer in Herndon, VA to pioneer security research across embedded systems and high-speed architectures. You will deconstruct hardware, extract firmware, and uncover vulnerabilities alongside top researchers, delivering impact for national security partners.

Ideal candidates have BS in CS/EE or 5+ years in embedded security, with hands‑on experience in embedded systems, reverse engineering, and FPGA development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE or 5+ years embedded security experience.
• Experience with embedded systems like high-speed data devices or SoMs.
• Experience reversing binaries (x86/ARM/AVR) and extracting firmware.
• Debugging embedded systems using JTAG/UART, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Developing and integrating bootloaders for embedded systems.
• Creating wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Programming in C, C++, and Python.
• FPGA development on AMD/Xilinx, Altera, or Microsemi devices.

Responsibilities

• Reverse engineer embedded systems designs to identify behaviors for vulnerability analysis.
• Identify and exploit key system components and firmware memory.
• Conduct vulnerability research on hardened systems and architectures.
• Draft technical reports on hardware and firmware vulnerabilities.
• Prototype technologies to analyze and exploit target systems.
• Reconstruct schematics and build hardware‑in‑the‑loop environments.
• Perform protocol and signals analysis with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Contribute to diverse embedded security RD projects.
