Job summary

Monarch Quantum seeks a Principal Product Engineering Program Manager to drive hardware development programs across mechanical, electrical, photonics, software and firmware teams. You will manage scope, schedule and budget, mitigate risks, partner with supply chain and vendors, and lead a matrixed team to deliver milestones with stringent governance and process discipline.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in an engineering field.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in hardware project engineering or hardware engineering product management.
• Experience in a hardware development startup environment is a plus.
• Proven track record leading hardware development projects using structured processes.
• Fluency driving actions across mechanical, electrical, software and firmware disciplines.
• Ability to execute projects independently or with third party contract manufacturers.

Responsibilities

• Leads cross-functional engineering programs spanning mechanical, electrical, module, photonics systems, software and firmware teams, driving day-to-day execution.
• Maintains scope, schedule and budget for photonics hardware development activities.
• Identifies risks and unblocks engineering teams to keep projects on schedule and budget.
• Partners with supply chain and vendors to ensure on-time delivery against build schedule.
• Manages matrixed technical team and vendors through bottlenecks and changes to maintain focus and productivity.
• Provides technical and problem-solving leadership, applying best engineering program management practices.
• Responsible for project execution per defined processes, documenting milestones and tests.
