Job summary

Monarch Quantum in San Diego seeks a Senior Project Engineer to lead hardware integration across mechanical, electrical, optical, software, and firmware teams, delivering integrated server racks for photonics hardware.

You will own scope, schedule, and budget in a fast-paced startup, translating customer requirements into engineering design and guiding vendors and contract manufacturers to successful completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years in hardware project engineering or hardware product management.
• Startup environment and server rack development experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional rack integration across mechanical, electrical, optical, software and firmware teams.
• Plan and execute development activities within Reliability Engineering and Product team, managing scope, schedule and budget.
• Translate customer usability, reliability, and maintainability requirements into design requirements for photonics rack designs.
• Manage matrixed technical teams and vendors through bottlenecks and changes to maintain productivity.
• Provide technical leadership, implement best engineering practices, and identify risks and opportunities.
• Ensure project execution per internal and customer processes with milestone reviews and test events.
