Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Hardware Production Support Engineer for an on-site position in Tewksbury, MA. You will work with RF, analog and digital hardware, coordinating with Operations, Quality and Supply Chain to resolve production issues and transition new products to production.

You will lead root-cause analysis, perform circuit modeling, and help sustain test equipment and procedures in a fast-paced defense environment with occasional travel.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a STEM degree and 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • At least 3+ years in testing / troubleshooting RF, analog, digital, and/or mixed-signal circuits.
  • Need ability to obtain Interim Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance electrical engineering skills with testing of digital, analog and RF hardware.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and other Engineering disciplines to resolve production issues.
  • Lead failure analysis and corrective action implementations (RCCA).
  • Perform circuit analysis including modeling and simulation of electrical signals.
  • Process Engineering Change Notices and Variances through CCPB process.
  • Support the transition to production of new products.
  • Develop and troubleshoot test equipment and establish test requirements and procedures.
  • 1st shift, on-site in Tewksbury, MA with travel to Andover and occasional travel to Tucson.

Raytheon’s Receiver/Exciter & Processing Architecture (REPA) Departmentis the focal point for receiver, exciter, beam steering, and signal processing technology within Raytheon. The department is responsible for the design, development, integration, and support to production builds, and lifecycle support of Raytheon products.

This position is for a multi-disciplineSenior Hardware Production Support Engineer, capable of solving design and manufacturing problems and providing highly innovative solutions in multiple product assembly, integration, test, statistical process control and transition to production applications. Senior Hardware Production Support Engineers are the liaisons between the design engineers, the factory, and suppliers and are responsible for working with Operations, Supply, Chain, Quality, and other Engineering disciplines to resolve production and transition to production issues.

What You Will Do
  • Enhance your electrical engineering skills working with digital, analog and/or RF hardware testing and debugging complex circuit card assemblies.

  • Collaborate and coordinate with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and other Engineering disciplines to resolve issues that may arise during production, testing, and integration.

  • Lead failure analysis / root cause determination and corrective action implementation.

  • Perform circuit analysis including characterization, modeling and simulation of electrical signals in electronics subsystems.

  • Process Engineering Change Notices and Variances through the Configuration Control Board process.

  • Support the transition to production of new products.

  • Partnering in the development and troubleshooting of test equipment and establishment of test requirements and procedures.

  • This 1st shift role is100% on-siteand will be based in Tewksbury, MA. Frequent travel is to be anticipated between multiple sites including Andover, MA. Infrequent travel to Tucson, AZ will be required, anticipated to be approximately 2 times per year.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Minimum 3+ years experience in testing / troubleshooting RF, analog, digital, and/or mixed signal circuits.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience in failure analysis / Root-Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations; Preferably with supplier and factory issues.

  • Experience working in a laboratory environment using logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, phase noise analyzer (PNA), spectrum analyzers, real time spectrum analyzers, and performance network analyzers to test and verify the functions of digital and RF signal circuits and subsystems.

  • Experience in a production environment.

  • Experience in applying Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods in achieving production yield improvements.

  • Technical writing and formal presentation experience.

  • Active / Existing Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
