Job summary

Raytheon is seeking an Electrical Engineer to help develop and produce radar subsystem hardware, including mixed-signal design for receivers, exciters, and transmitters. You will collaborate across systems, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to meet program requirements with trades analysis and verification.

The role is on-site in Massachusetts, with potential travel to MA sites and supplier locations. A DoD Secret clearance and U.S.

Qualifications

  • Requires STEM degree and 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in two or more areas: digital/rf/analog design, production testing, and tooling such as LTSpice, Matlab.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Interim Secret U.S. security clearance.

REPA has an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer who is seeking to use their strong academic background and professional experience in digital/analog hardware and subsystem design to help develop and produce the next generation of Raytheon’s Radar Receiver, Exciter, and Transmitter subsystems.

The scope of this role includes design of mixed signal hardware to support both new and existing Raytheon products. These design efforts will include collaboration with systems engineers, mechanical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and other electrical engineers to perform design trades and requirements flow down, perform electrical analysis, develop test plans, and ultimately to deliver working hardware that meets program requirements. Technical support during the transition to production and support to production activities are also expected. Team leadership skills including cost and schedule management plus proposal writing and presentation experience are desired.

What You Will Do
  • Circuit and sub-system architecture, design, modeling, simulation, and verification.

  • This 1st shift role will be 100% on-site & based in either Tewksbury, MA or Marlborough, MA, with travel between multiple MA sites anticipated.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Combined experience in two or more of the following areas:
    • Digital Design (Requirements development through Build and Test)
    • RF/Analog Design (Requirements development through Build and Test)
    • Production testing and troubleshooting circuits
    • Experience with design simulation tools (e.g., HyperLynx, LTSpice) and analytical tools (e.g., Matlab)
    • Experience with design development tools (e.g., Mentor Graphics' Xpedition schematic capture and layout)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience interfacing and testing with testing Digital to Analog Converters (D/A) and Analog to Digital Converters (A/D).
  • Experience with various digital high-speed interfaces such as JESD204B, Memory (DDR3, DDR4), SERDES, 10G+ Ethernet, Fiber Channel.
  • Background in FPGA hardware inference designs including SERDES, LVDS chip-to-chip and board-to-board.
  • Understanding of allocating and flowing down requirements from the system to the component level.
  • Knowledge of cost estimating, plus budget and schedule management.
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment using logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, phase noise analyzer (PNA), and spectrum analyzer to test and verify the functions of digital and mixed signal circuits and systems.
  • Experience in a production environment.
  • Experience in technical writing, proposal writing, and oral presentations.
  • Active / Existing Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD.
