Job summary

Investigo in San Francisco is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to own and drive electro-mechanical product development from concept through production. You will shape architecture, guide CAD work, prototypes, and testing across the full lifecycle.

Collaborating with electrical, software, reliability, and manufacturing teams, you will perform analyses to meet product goals and support Asian manufacturing.

Qualifications

• BSME or equivalent required.
• 5+ years in consumer product design with sensor/electronics integration.
• Experience with high-volume consumer products and Asia manufacturing.
• Proficient in 3D CAD (Solidworks, NX, Creo).
• Knowledge of DFM/DFA and GD&T.
• Willingness to travel to China.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for new products from concept to production. This role offers significant ownership over decisions and opportunities for career growth in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Own, architect, and design complex electromechanical systems, including plastic, metal, and soft goods components integrated with novel sensors and actuators.

- Drive designs across the entire development lifecycle: brainstorming, CAD, prototyping, testing, and ramp into production (including Asia manufacturing support).

- Solve highly cross-functional problems by collaborating with electrical, software, reliability, and manufacturing engineering teams.

- Perform analysis and testing to ensure designs meet product goals, including thermal, fluid, and structural analyses.

- Collaborate with industrial design, marketing, product teams, and company leadership to shape product direction and features.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of consumer product design experience, including injection molding, sheet metal forming, and sensor/electronics integration.
• Experience shipping high-volume consumer products and supporting manufacturing in Asia.
• Highly proficient with 3D modeling (e.g., Solidworks, NX, Creo).
• Experience with high-volume manufacturing processes, DFM/DFA, tolerance analysis, functional dimensioning, and GD&T.
• Strong understanding of root cause analysis, DOE, and quality measuring techniques.
• BSME or equivalent required.
• Willingness and ability to travel to China as needed.
