Job summary

Q-CTRL is seeking a Hardware Integration Engineer to own the mechanical and electrical integration of quantum sensing hardware onto UAS platforms. You will work with systems, software, and hardware engineers across the US to bring up, debug, and modify integrated systems for lab, field, and flight deployment.

The role requires hands-on experience with electro-mechanical assembly, wiring, and CAD-driven component development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Hands-on experience integrating electro‑mechanical systems in aerospace, UAS, robotics, or R&D environments.
• Proficiency with prototype assembly, wiring, and harness fabrication.
• Experience using CAD tools to develop mechanical and electrical components.
• Familiarity with test equipment and rapid prototyping processes.
• Strong collaboration with systems and software teams on integration requirements.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical and electrical integration of sensors and hardware onto UAS platforms, delivering flight-ready systems.
• Develop and implement integration components such as brackets, fixtures, cabling, and interface hardware.
• Build and bring-up integrated hardware systems and perform bench, environmental, and functional testing.
• Collaborate with systems and software engineers to implement interfaces and ensure subsystems operate together reliably.
• Travel domestically and internationally as needed and coordinate across time zones.
• Plan and document integration builds, test configurations, results, and anomalies for traceability.
• Liaise with suppliers and support procurement for prototypes.
• Maintain equipment, consumables, and safe lab practices.
• Perform additional duties within your skill set or with appropriate training.
