Job summary

OnX is seeking a Senior Hardware Field Test Engineer based in Montana to lead field-testing of a new connected product experience. You will drive end-to-end testing, coordinate across engineering, manufacturing, and support, and ensure readiness before launch.

You will shape testing processes, establish criteria, and build a scalable field-testing program while leveraging AI thoughtfully to improve workflows and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or equivalent in engineering or QA.
• 7+ years testing integrated hardware and software products.
• Ability to independently lead complex hardware testing programs.
• Experience investigating, prioritizing, and managing defects and risks.
• Willingness to travel to Montana offices and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end field-testing program, including planning and execution.
• Develop and manage field-testing processes for visibility into performance and risks.
• Establish defect triage and tracking practices and evaluate severity and impact.
• Analyze field data, support data, and defect trends to identify patterns.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and manufacturing teams to resolve defects.
• Coordinate environmental, durability, and real-world performance tests.
• Define quality criteria and provide data-informed launch readiness assessments.
• Identify testing gaps and cross-functional dependencies, escalating trade-offs when needed.
• Continuously improve testing workflows, reporting, and accountability.
