Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a hardware engineer to design and document complex IT hardware solutions. You will create drawings, layouts, rack elevations and interconnect diagrams, and lead components integration across electrical, mechanical, and software interfaces.

Collaborative across engineering teams, you will develop BOMs and installation guidance while following configuration controls. The role requires a Bachelor’s in a related field, secret clearance, and proven experience in hardware design,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degrees in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Systems, or Information Technology or related field.
• Secret Clearance required.
• Experience in hardware engineering, hardware design, drafting, or systems integration.
• Experience producing technical drawings, diagrams, and hardware documentation.
• Experience with IT hardware systems design including enterprise or mission-focused components.
• Experience integrating complex hardware systems or subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and document hardware solutions for IT environments.
• Prepare and maintain hardware drawings, layouts, installation diagrams, and interconnect diagrams.
• Support hardware systems design and integration across components and interfaces.
• Develop hardware specifications, BOMs, and installation guidance.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for end-to-end hardware solutions.
• Participate in requirements analysis, design reviews, and trade studies.
• Support hardware assembly, configuration, installation, integration, and test activities.
• Analyze hardware issues and perform root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Ensure designs and installation packages meet standards and customer requirements.
• Support lifecycle activities including modernization and sustainment.
