First Order Effects is seeking a Sr. Hardware Development Electrical Engineer to own end-to-end electrical boards for autonomous era infrastructure.

The role requires taking boards from schematic through production, performing layout, bring-up, and rigorous testing in a salt-air, heat, and vibration environment. Based on a strong background in electrical engineering, you will collaborate with mechanical, thermal, firmware, test, and supply chain teams to ensure fit, heat management, and

Competenze

• Bachelor's in electrical/ computer engineering or physics.
• 5+ years designing circuits, hardware, or products.
• Experience taking boards from schematic to production.
• Fluent with at least one ECAD tool and shared library release.

Mansioni

• Own electrical boards end to end: requirements, architecture, schematic, PCB layout, bring-up, debug, prod release, test.
• Perform layout including stackup, impedance, power planes, thermal reliefs, creepage/clearance, DFM.
• Design mixed‑signal boards for salt air, heat, vibration; include controllers, gate drive, sensing, power, interfaces.
• Build bench/test fixtures, bring up boards, document learnings for next revision.
• Be on the floor when boards are built and in the field; investigate failures.
• Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, firmware, test, and supply chain to ensure fit, heat shedding, build repeatability.
• Push back on non-viable requirements and adapt based on data.
