Job summary

DSJ Global is seeking a senior hardware design engineer in San Jose, CA to own board-level hardware for large-scale systems used in memory applications. The role emphasizes architecture ownership, collaboration with experienced hardware engineers, and delivering from concept to customer release.

You will mentor junior engineers, drive high-speed interfaces, and lead cross-functional teams through the full product lifecycle in a highly visible engineering setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of hardware design experience.
• Proven ownership of products from concept through production.
• Experience designing high-speed digital, analog, power, FPGA, and ASIC-based hardware.
• Experience with DDR, PCIe, USB, SerDes, or similar high-speed interfaces.
• Understanding of PCB design, signal integrity, power integrity, thermal, and mechanical considerations.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Experience working across multifunctional engineering teams.
• Ability to mentor engineers and provide technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own board-level design for large-scale multi-board hardware systems.
• Lead hardware development from concept through design, validation, manufacturing, and release.
• Design high-speed digital, analog, power, FPGA, and ASIC-based circuitry.
• Drive hardware architecture decisions aligned with product and customer requirements.
• Apply signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) principles to ensure robust designs.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to develop scalable hardware solutions.
• Serve as a technical leader and mentor to junior engineers.
• Support customer-facing technical discussions and escalations.
