Job summary

Viasat is seeking a senior engineer to lead technical recovery of high-speed digital, mixed-signal, and RF circuit boards used in terrestrial and ship-board satellite systems.

You will analyze faults from system to component level, guide board recovery, and help develop documentation to extend device life. The role requires extensive circuit expertise, vendor coordination, and travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in electrical/electronic/computer engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years of electronic circuit engineering experience with high-speed digital and mixed-signal circuits.
• Strong understanding of high-speed interfaces (DDR2/3/4, LVDS, USB, SATA, PCIe, SFP+).
• Experience with RF functions: amplifiers, mixers, oscillators, impedance matching.
• Ability to diagnose embedded circuit issues and debug down to component level.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex board assemblies with mixed digital and RF components.
• Identify faults using test equipment and document recovery steps.
• Develop technical user documentation for engineers and technicians.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and operations teams.
• Provide guidance on test cases and system-level recovery strategies.
