Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Hardware Engineer in Bedford, NH to join a focused team developing modular software for emulating cyber-physical systems. You will work in a lab with test equipment, lead platform development for test and characterization, and contribute to cross-team efforts on architecture and emulation using C/C++ and Python.

The role requires a BS in a relevant field, at least 5 years of experience, US citizenship, and an active Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required.
• Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI.
• Experience developing rapid prototype solutions.
• Ability to develop PCB-based designs and FPGA/embedded software support.
• Experience extending emulation frameworks (e.g., QEMU) in C/C++ and Python.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, implement, and test modular software tools for emulating cyber-physical systems.
• Characterize and debug complex electronic systems with test equipment.
• Prepare and execute test events for customers and stakeholders.
• Lead lab-based acquisition and control platform development for hardware tests.
• Represent hardware on interdisciplinary teams and advise on system architecture.
• Contribute to proposals with technical path, BOM, costs and schedules.
• Rehost unknown firmware by analyzing binaries and adapting for emulation.
