Job summary

Akamai Cambridge seeks a Senior Hardware Engineer to own platform development for compute and GPU servers. You will define requirements, review schematics, and drive NPI from EVT to MP while partnering with OEM/ODM and component suppliers.

You will lead bring-up and debug across power, thermal, storage, networking, and manageability. Proven experience in Linux scripting and hardware validation is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Eight years of relevant hardware experience and a related Bachelor's degree.
• Foundation in server architecture and board-level design/debug.
• Experience with platform validation (power/thermal, SI, PCIe/NVMe).
• Proficiency in Linux and scripting; automate tests and generate data-driven reports.
• Track record of vendor management and driving schedules/quality.

Responsibilities

• Own platform development for compute and GPU servers.
• Define requirements, review schematics/layouts, guide DFM, drive NPI from EVT to MP.
• Lead bring-up and debug of boards and systems (power, thermal, storage, networking).
• Develop and execute validation plans; root-cause issues across HW/FW/SW.
• Collaborate with OEM/ODM, silicon, and component suppliers on configurations.
• Manage component firmware/BIOS/OpenBMC features (performance/power/thermal).
• Qualify technologies: PCIe Gen5/Gen6 GPUs/CPUs/NICs/DPU/NVMe/DRAM.
• Design/validate GPU platforms including PCIe/NVLink/UALink topologies and reliability.
