Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a senior hardware engineer to lead the complete design cycle of our hardware products, from specification to prototype bring-up and validation, collaborating with mechanical, signal integrity, PCB layout, and compliance teams. You will work cross-functionally with product management, software, operations, and quality assurance, driving early hardware issues to resolution, and supporting factory builds.

A BS in EE/CE and 8+ years of hardware development are required.

• Minimum of 8 years experience in hardware development.
• Hands-on design, bring up and debugging of PCBs for products launched to customers.

Job Summary Your Career As a key contributor in the Platform Hardware development team, you will be responsible for the complete design cycle of Palo Alto Networks hardware including: specification; component selection; schematic entry; layout oversight; prototype bring-up, debug, and validation testing. The Hardware Engineering team is an interdisciplinary team including: mechanical engineering, signal integrity, PCB layout, and compliance. You will also collaborate cross-functionally with product management, software, operations and quality assurance.

Job Requirements Excellent ability to drive tasks proactively, independently and elevate and communicate issues and needs clearly to the cross-functional team Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic development environment Demonstrated success at full product life-cycle ownership from concept to production release Experience with embedded CPU design, especially x86 and ARM. Experience with Marvell and Broadcom's Multi-gig Ethernet switches and PHYs. Experience with high speed interfaces like PCIe, DDR4/5, LPDDR4/5, USB3.x, SGMII, QSGMII, OUSGMII and low speed interfaces like SPI, I2C and UART. Experience with OrCad schematic capture and Allegro PCB layout tools Experience working with lab equipments like multi-channel multi-gig oscilloscopes for hands-on prototyping, design, debug and power analysis Need excellent debugging skills and familiar with protocol analyzers for SPI, I2C and other standard interfaces. Support at the factory when needed for engineering builds and production Familiar with signal integrity aspects of high speed interfaces Familiar with regulatory EMC standards and support any EMC related issues at the external labs.

Compensation Disclosure

Compensation Disclosure The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com-missioned roles) is expected to be the annual range listed below. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here. $147,600.00 - $238,700.00/yr
