Cisco Systems, Inc. in San Jose, CA is seeking a Hardware Diagnostic Engineer to develop diagnostics test suites for Cisco switches running Linux, and to contribute to hardware bring-up and BSP development for the Silicon One ASIC.

You will collaborate across ASIC, hardware, and manufacturing teams to diagnose issues, improve yields, and shorten test times, while supporting mass production test and field deployments in a fast, innovative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, CS, or related field with 7+ years, or Master’s with 4+ years.
• 5+ years of C/C++ and/or Python in Linux.
• 5+ years hardware-level programming and device drivers.
• Linux bring-up and system integration expertise.
• Experience with microcontrollers and embedded peripherals (I2C, PCIe, SPI, MDIO).

Responsibilities

• Develop diagnostics tests suites for Cisco switches on Linux servers.
• Work on hardware bring-up and BSP development for ASIC bring-up.
• Collaborate with ASIC, hardware, vendors and manufacturing teams.
• Support manufacturing test for failure analysis to improve yield.
