Zhuzhou CRRC Times Electric UK Innovation Centre (TEIC) is a subsidiary of CRRC Corporation Limited, a leading provider of propulsion and control systems in the rolling stock industry. Our mission is to design, develop, and produce advanced power electronics systems and components for automotive electric vehicles, rail, and renewable energy sectors.

Overview of the role:

We are seeking a Senior Hardware Design Engineer to join our railway team at TEIC. The role involves circuit design, simulation analysis, and test verification of gate drivers for power semiconductor devices.

Responsibilities include:

1. Design and develop gate drive boards for power semiconductor devices rated at 1200V or higher.
2. Ensure hardware solutions, detailed technical designs, and PCB layouts meet specifications.
3. Perform hardware circuit analysis, including FMEDAs, FTAs, diagnostic coverage, DFMEA, and DRBFM reliability analyses, and compile reports.
4. Conduct simulation calculations related to tolerances, worst-case scenarios, derating, EMC, and thermal analysis, and document findings.
5. Test, validate, and calibrate electronic circuits; prepare test specifications and reports.
6. Manage electronic materials and PCB library components.
7. Summarize and validate design experiences and criteria.
8. Collaborate with reliability engineers for testing and coordinate with system engineers for integration.
9. Work with project managers and manufacturing teams to ensure timely, cost-effective prototype production.
10. Prepare electronic circuit test fixtures.

Qualifications:

1. Degree in Engineering, Electronics, Physics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2. At least 5 years of experience in power electronics product design, with strong PCB design skills.
3. Ability to independently produce schematics for gate driver boards, including power, driving, and protection circuits.
4. Experience with two-level or three-level inverter design, with inverter bus voltages of 600V+ and rated power of 200KW+.
5. Familiarity with power electronics semiconductor modules.
6. Extensive experience in gate driver board debugging and double-pulse testing.
7. Experience in high-power switching power supply development.
8. Proficiency with Altium Designer, Cadence, or similar software.
9. Experience with HALT and quantitative ALT life testing is a plus.
