Blue Origin in Merritt Island, FL is seeking a Principal Specialist to lead the development, fabrication, integration, testing, and operational support of ground and test systems for aerospace propulsion. The role requires deep hands-on experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, cryogenic, mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies, with a focus on safety, quality, and configuration control.

Up to 25% travel to rocket engine test sites is expected.

Qualifikationen

• Associate degree in STEM or 25+ years aerospace experience.
• 15+ years experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, cryogenic and electro-mechanical assemblies.
• 25+ years experience with cryogenic/hydraulic/hydrogen peroxide systems and related ground-support testing.
• Ability to read fluid/electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
• Strong communication and collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, and operations.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Aufgaben

• Provide technical leadership across pneumatic, hydraulic, cryogenic, and electro-mechanical hardware for launch and field operations.
• Support construction, commissioning, operation, and improvement of cleaning, passivation, and test facilities.
• Develop standards and processes for precision cleaning, testing, and acceptance of ground-support hardware.
• Troubleshoot valve assemblies and related components.
• Create and release manufacturing work orders; coordinate material requirements and supply chain.
• Coordinate with technicians during cleaning, fabrication, assembly, and testing of components.
• Maintain configuration control of drawings and documentation.
• Lead investigations and corrective actions for failed systems.
• Mentor technicians in assembly, testing, and maintenance of complex systems.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reliability, and safety.
