Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Principal Specialist to lead and execute technical efforts across pneumatic, hydraulic, cryogenic, and electro‑mechanical systems for ground‑test and production environments. You will guide design, fabrication, integration, and testing while maintaining safety, quality, and configuration control.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a STEM or technical program, or 25+ years of relevant aerospace test, manufacturing, or ground‑systems experience.
• 15+ years of industry experience working with pneumatic, hydraulic, cryogenic and electro‑mechanical assemblies.
• 25+ years of hands‑on experience with cryogenic, hydraulic, hydrogen peroxide, hypergolic, high‑pressure pneumatic systems, aerospace cleaning/contamination‑control standards, and testing of ground‑support components.
• Ability to interpret fluid systems and electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, drawings, specs, and procedures.
• Proficiency using fluids GSE and laboratory test equipment.
• Strong communication and collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, test and operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and hands‑on support for pneumatic, hydraulic, cryogenic, and electro‑mechanical hardware through design to deployment.
• Support construction, operation, and improvement of cleaning, passivation, and test facilities.
• Develop standards and procedures for precision cleaning, testing, and acceptance of ground‑support hardware.
• Lead investigations and corrective actions for failed components and systems.
• Coordinate with technicians and manufacturing during assembly, installation, and testing of ground‑support hardware.
• Maintain configuration control of drawings and documentation.
