Job summary
Seagate Technology is seeking a HAMR Test Sr. Staff Engineer to advance test systems for recording head technology.
You will develop innovative test methods, collaborate with design and manufacturing teams, and drive data analytics and AI/ML driven validation in a hands-on lab setting. The role requires deep expertise in electrical testing, data interpretation, and signal processing, with extensive engineering experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
- 12+ years experience or Master’s with 8+ years, or PhD with 5+ years (equivalent).
- Strong programming in C/C++, MATLAB, Python; ability to develop and automate solutions.
- Experience with electrical testing and characterization lab equipment; data analysis and signal processing.
Responsibilities
- Develop and apply advanced disc drive head and media test technology.
- Collaborate across groups to develop test equipment, data acquisition and signal processing.
- Enable AI/ML testing and data analytics; design head/media evaluations and publish reports.
- Work on tests requiring understanding of digital magnetic recording and test algorithms.
- Engage in hands-on lab work and troubleshooting of complex systems.
