Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an insurance underwriter to assess risks and set premiums for large employer groups. You will renew complex group cases and work with sales, administration and claims to evaluate ratings and plan changes.

The role involves coordinating with multiple departments, preparing annual settlements and ERISA reports, and mentoring junior underwriters to maintain high standards of accuracy and reporting.

Qualifications

• Requires a BA/BS in a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of related experience.
• CPCU, CLU, LOMA, HIAA or other insurance related courses preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine acceptability of insurance risks and appropriate premium rates for large, complex employer groups.
• Calculate renewal rates for complex group cases.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure accuracy and consistency of account reporting.
• Prepare or supervise the preparation of annual settlements, ERISA reports, rate projections, or benefit changes.
• Communicate with sales, administration and claims to assess rating and administrative impact or benefit and plan changes.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior underwriters.
